Security Service Field hosts Ft. Carson Appreciation night in addition to the Sky Sox and Dodgers tonight in Colorado Springs (Bobby Stevens/MiLB.com)

Colorado Springs opened up the four-game series against the OKC Dodgers with a nice and tidy 3-1 win Friday night at Security Service Field. Ariel Pena tossed four innings and allowed an unearned run, before the bullpen came on and fired five scoreless innings and struck out 10 Dodgers en route to locking down the victory. The Dodgers come in with the league’s best pitching staff and an offense that strikes out more than any other team in the PCL.

Tonight, the Sky Sox turn to LHP Brent Suter for the start. The southpaw returns to the staring role after following Ariel Pena with 4 1/3 innings on Monday against the Express. The Dodgers will shift their rotation just a touch as they add RHP Mike Bolsinger to the roster for tonight’s game. Sam LeCure will follow tomorrow and 19-year old lefty phenom Julio Urias will make his scheduled start on Monday.

Tonight’s game is Ft. Carson Appreciation Night Presented by USAA/BAE Systems with Postgame fireworks. Here are all the great promotions lined up for the next few days at Security Service Field!

Sky Sox Pitcher: LHP Brent Suter returns to the mound in a starting role for the first time since 4/26 against Omaha. The lefty last pitched on Monday in relief of Ariel Pena who faced just 10 batters. He managed to go 4 1/3 innings and allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, 3 free passes and 1 strikeout. In Suter’s last start against Omaha he also went 4 1/3 innings and allowed 3 runs on 8 hits and struck out a pair. Last Time Out: 5/2/16 vs. Round Rock – Suter entered Monday’s game with the bases loaded and nobody out in the second inning in relief of Ariel Pena. He struggled in that first frame allowing five total runs to score. The lefty settled in and allowed two runs on five scattered hits the rest of his outing. He threw just 68 pitches, 41 of which were for strikes.

Dodgers Pitcher: RHP Mike Bolsinger is set to make his 2016 debut tonight against the Sky Sox. The righty won the Dodgers’ fifth spot in the starting rotation with a nice spring, but suffered a left oblique injury while warming up for a start on March 20, about 25-minutes after being notified of his accomplishment. Bolsinger was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the 15th round of the 2010 draft out of the University of Arkansas. He played in the D-Backs system until he was traded to the Dodgers for cash in November of 2014. His MLB debut came with Arizona on April 14, 2014. He split 2015 with the OKC Dodgers and LA Dodgers. In 31 career big-league outings (30 starts) Bolsinger is 7-12 with a 4.23 ERA and in 114 career minor-league outings he is 36-24 with a 3.38 ERA.
