After being shutout in three of their previous eight games, the Sky Sox bats welcomed a return to the friendly confines of Security Service Field. The sox exploded for 13 runs in a 13-6 drubbing of the Iowa Cubs Tuesday night.
Trailing 3-2 in the fourth, the Sky Sox scored six runs highlighted by a Josh Fields bases clearing double to take a 8-3 lead they would not relinquish. Fields would add a solo home run, his fifth of the year, and finished the night 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored.
Greg Reynolds (3-0, 5.83) picked up the win as he gutted through six tough innings, allowing five runs on ten hits.
The Sox will look to make it two in a row as they take on the I-Cubs in a Wednesday matinée starting at 11:05 AM MT. It’s cold and snowing at the moment but we expect to have baseball today as Josh Muecke (1-3, 5.59) takes on Jay Jackson (1-1, 5.31).
