Another Spring Training is nearing the end, and the Sky Sox season is mere days away from Opening Day. On April 3rd, the Sky Sox will travel to New Orleans to take on the Zephyrs, Miami’s top affiliate. The Sky Sox will then return to Security Service Field for the home opener on April 11th. But before the season gets underway, here’s a couple headlines out of the last few days of Spring Training.

Jhoulys Chacin out until early May – Last season, Chacin, who is recovering from a shoulder strain from early this spring, went 14-10 with a 3.47 ERA and struck out 126 batters in 197.1 innings.
Franklin Morales could get the final starting rotation spot – Morales was traded with pitcher Chris Martin from the Red Sox for Jonathan Herrera in the offseason and has performed extremely well for the Rockies this Spring. He compiled a 3-1 record and had an ERA of 2.21 while striking out 23 in 20.1 innings.
