The Sky Sox have hit their third two-game losing streak of the season after dropping the first two of the four-game set to the Omaha Storm Chasers. The offense has certainly been there for both teams as they have combined to score 31 runs on 47 hits. Both games have been decided by one run. The Storm Chasers are 7-3 at home and the Sky Sox have split each of their first four series to start the season…Somethin’s gotta give!

The Sky Sox send their steadiest starter to the hill in hopes of stopping the slide and returning to the win column. RHP Junior Guerra takes the hill and will square off against the PCL’s ERA leader and Omaha lefty Jonathan Dziedzic.

Today’s Game Notes / Listen Live at 5:00 MDT

Colorado Springs Sky Sox (7-9) at Omaha Storm Chasers (12-6) – 5:35 p.m. – Werner Park, Papillion, Nebraska

Pitching Matchup: RHP Junior Guerra (0-1, 3.44) vs. LHP Jonathan Dziedzic (1-1, 0.53 )

Sky Sox Pitcher: RHP Junior Guerra looks to right the Sky Sox ship tonight with a solid performance in Omaha. The veteran righty is 0-1 with a 3.44 ERA and a .175 BAA through his first three starts of the season. He is coming off of the worst start of his season where he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts to the Nashville Sounds in game one of Wednesday’s doubleheader, a game the Sox won 5-4 courtesy of Orlando Arcia.

The 31-year old Guerra leads the team in strikeouts with 19 and has pitched into the sixth inning in each of his three starts. After facing Nashville twice and Memphis once, Guerra will tackle his third opponent of the season and try to quiet the potent Omaha lineup. He made his big-league debut with the White Sox last year and had three games in the bigs under his belt, while this will be 76th minor-league game and just his 20th career start.

In total, the southpaw is 19-15 with a 2.88 ERA in 66 minor-league games.
