Garin Cecchini and Adam Weisenburger went deep in the loss. We turn the page and look ahead to tonight’s tilt which features RHP Hiram Burgos for the Sky Sox and RHP Jake Buchanan for the Cubs.

Keeping tabs on the offense over the last seven games…The Sky Sox have banged out 85 hits and plated 50 runs, but the pitching has lacked giving up 69 runs in the last eight tilts.

Before we dive into today’s game the Brewers and Sky Sox have announced a few roster moves:

Pitching Matchup: RHP Hiram Burgos (1-2, 10.64) vs. RHP Jake Buchanan (0-1, 14.54 )

Burgos was selected in the 6th round of the 2009 draft out of Bethune-Cookman University.

Last Time Out: 4/23/16 – Due to travel issues, Burgos came out of the bullpen to face the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park on Saturday and things did not go so well for the righty. He logged three innings in relief and allowed 9 runs (8 earned) on 8 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Burgos threw 77 pitches in the outing. His best outing came prior to that when he picked up a win against Memphis at home on April 18.

I-Cubs Pitcher: RHP Jake Buchanan gets his second turn in the rotation for the I-Cubs. Buchanan’s season started sourly as he was released by the Astros coming out of Spring Training. The Cubs signed the righty to a minor-league deal on April 3. He was originally slected by the Astros in the 8th round of the 2010 draft out of NC State.

Buchanan is 38-43 with a 4.13 ERA in his MiLB career, appearing in 147 games since 2010. He made his big-league debut in June of 2014 and is 1-3 with a 4.06 ERA in 22 appearances in MLB, his last coming in 2015 with the ‘Stros. He, like yesterday’s starter Williams, is a sinker ball pitcher that relies heavily on ground ball outs.

Last Time Out: 4/24/16 vs. OKC – Buchanan took the loss in his lone appearance of 2016 on April 24 against the OKC Dodgers. The righty pitched into the 5th, but gave up 8 runs (7 earned) on 9 hits, 1 walk and 4 strikeouts.
