The Sky Sox wrapped up their rain-shortened six game homestand with a 6-4 loss yesterday afternoon and shortly thereafter headed west to open up an eight game, all-California road trip. The first four games take Colorado Springs to the state capital of Sacramento to take on the River Cats, the top affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, while the final four games see the Sox play against the Fresno Grizzlies, the top affiliate of the Houston Astros and the defending PCL and Triple-A champions.

Tonight’s game will feature the first career start for Sky Sox southpaw Sam Freeman as he’ll go toe-to-toe with Sacramento’s righty Joan Gregorio. San Francisco Giants RHP Sergio Romo is slated to make a one-inning, rehab appearance in the ball game tonight, but it has not been announced whether he will start tonight or not. The Sky Sox went 2-2 against the River Cats last year, are 70-110 overall, and 32-61 on the road against them. Both teams are off to slow starts as the Sky Sox enter play at 18-21 and the River Cast come in with a league-worst 17-27 record.

RHP Sergio Romo is slated to make an appearance for the River Cats as part of his MLB Rehab program. Romo last pitched for the Giants on April 10 at AT&T Park against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
