Sox catcher Jordan Pacheco was out prior to batting practice today, making throw after throw down to second base. Pacheco made between 75-100 throws and many of them were right on the money to the second base bag.

The Fresno Grizzlies stole four bases off of Pacheco and Sky Sox pitchers Clayton Mortensen, Bruce Billings, and Andrew Johnston yesterday. Pacheco has now thrown out 2-of-27 (7.4%) attempted base stealers on the season.

A converted infielder, Pacheco was moved to catcher before the 2008 season, his second season in the Rockies organization. From ’08-’10 Pacheco threw out 72-of-335 (21.5%) potential base stealers so the potential is there for him to improve on his early season numbers.
