Sox Scribbles: Cat Scratch Fever
The Sky Sox dropped game one of their four game series with the Sacramento River Cats Saturday by a score of 5-3.
The Sox missed an opportunity to blow the game open in the first as they loaded the bases with nobody out. Ian Stewart sent a 3-2 pitch screaming down the right field line but it hooked foul at the last second, narrowly missing a potential Grand Slam. Stewart struck out on the next pitch and the Sox managed to score just one run in the inning on a sacrifice fly by Cole Garner.
Back-to-back sixth inning home runs by Scott Sizemore and Matt Carson off of Sox starter Alan Johnson gave the River Cats a 4-2 lead they would not relinquish.
The Sox will look to win their first game against Sacramento this year as they face the River Cats at 1:05 this afternoon. Check back tomorrow for a recap of the game.
