Sox Notes 7/5/11
A few notes from today:
- Rockies starter Esmil Rogers, who has been resting a rib cage injury for the last few weeks, looked healthy while throwing a simulated game this afternoon. He routinely hit 94 mph with his fastball and touched 96 mph on a few instances. No word on when Rogers will return to normal action.
- Infielder Chris Nelson, who was optioned down from the Rockies a few days ago, was out early working at second base with Sox manager Stu Cole. Specifically they worked on turning double plays from the second base position.
