Colorado Rockies All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, who has been working to get back to the Rockies since injuring his groin in a May 30th game with the Houston Astros, will take one of the final steps in his road of recovery as he is set to make his third career appearance at the friendly confines of Security Service Field on June 13.
Tulowitzki will complete a Minor League Rehab Assignment with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in their series finale with the first-place Reno Aces on Wednesday June 13, the first appearance by the standout shortstop since July of 2010 when he appeared in two games for the Sky Sox against the Sacramento RiverCats, then will attempt to rejoin the Rockies sometime during their nine-game roadtrip which begins June 15.
Tulowitzki made the jump from Double-A Tulsa straight to the Major Leagues in 2006, and skipped Triple-A entirely when rising up the ranks as a top prospect. Tulowitzki has appeared in four total games with the Sky Sox in his professional career, and made his debut with the Sky Sox on June 17, 2008 against the Salt Lake Bees. He has notched at least one hit in three of the four games he has appeared in.
Come out to see one of the Rockies franchise players at your hometown ballpark starting at 12:35 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon!
