The Colorado Rockies announced Sunday afternoon RHP Tyler Chatwood will make a rehab start with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Tuesday in Round Rock, Texas.
LHP Christian Friedrich was slated to start Tuesday in the second game of a four-game set against the Round Rock Express.
Chatwood, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, April 2nd (retroactive to March 28), has pitched parts of two seasons with the Sky Sox.
In 15 starts with the Rockies’ Triple-A affiliate, the 24 year old has thrown 71.1 innings and has an ERA of 4.43, with 64 strikeouts.
In 66 appearances at the big league level (57 starts), Chatwood is 19-22, throwing 318 innings while striking out 181 batters. In 2013, he had his best season, making 20 starts, compiling an 8-5 record with an ERA of 3.15 and 66 strikeouts in 111.1 innings.
The three-year Major League veteran was acquired by the Rockies from the Los Angeles Angels in November 2011 in exchange for catcher Chris Iannetta.
