The Sky Sox fell 3-1 to the Sounds yesterday at First Tennessee Park. Former Sky Sox catcher Matt McBride crushed the go-ahead, two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning.  Tonight marks the eighth game of the season and the Sox need a win for a series and road trip split before they head back to the Spring and open up the 2016 home campaign. The Sox will throw LHP Brent Suter against LHP Dillon Overton of the Sounds.

Pitching Matchup: LHP Brent Suter (0-1, 6.75) at LHP Dillon Overton (0-1, 2.25)

Sky Sox Pitcher: LHP Brent Suter returns to the bump for the second time this season. The southpaw’s first outing did not go according to plan as he lasted just four innings against Memphis on Saturday. Suter allowed 3 runs (all earned), on 8 hits; he didn’t walk any Redbirds and struck out 2. After being utilized in short stints during spring training, the Chicago native continues to be stretched out thus he only tossed 61 pitches, 41 of which were strikes. The Harvard graduate is 3-2 with a 3.66 ERA in seven starts with the Sky Sox in his AAA career.

Overton, a product of the University of Oklahoma, went 4 innings and allowed 2 runs, 1 earned on 7 hits, 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. The southpaw has advanced quickly in his career, achieving a rotation spot in AAA in just his third professional season. In his brief career Overton is 7-10 with a 3.07 ERA in 40 career games.
