Colorado Springs has fallen in six of its last eight games and three of the first four on the eight-game California road trip. In the three losses against Sacramento the Sky Sox mustered three runs on 14 hits. They scored 9 runs on 12 hits in their lone win back on Tuesday evening. The River Cats were on the verge of sending the Sox to Fresno with back-to-back 6-0 shutout losses, but Nate Orf’s sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth in yesterday’s tilt sent the game to a 6-1 final. Hiram Burgos took the loss for the Sox and allowed four runs in 5 2/3 innings. Chris Heston tossed six scoreless against Colorado Springs and sent them to their second-straight loss.

The Sox have made the trek from the capital city of California to the Raisin Capital of the World last night and get set to open up a four-game series against the Fresno Grizzlies. The opener of the series will see the righty Tyler Cravy for the Sky Sox and the right-hander Mike Hauschild of the Grizzlies. Cravy is 0-1 with a 4.60 ERA in four games (three starts) with the Sky Sox in 2016, he last pitched and took the loss against Las Vegas on Sunday at Security Service Field. Hauschild has earned a decision in each of his first eight starts with Fresno this season and has compiled a 3-5 record with a 3.64 ERA in 47 innings.  Fresno took home both the PCL Championship and the Triple-A Championship in 2016. The Sky Sox went 1-2 against the Grizzlies last year, are 85-106 overall, and 36-58 on the road against them. Both teams are off to slow starts as the Sky Sox enter play at 19-24 and the Grizzlies come in with a 21-25 record. The Grizzlies return to play tonight after sweeping the OKC Dodgers in a four-game set.
