Hader turned in six scoreless inning, scattered two hits, walked one, and struck out 12, establishing a career-high for himself. Sam Freeman struck out four of the five outs he recorded and Ben Rowen K’d two more Express and racked the Sox pitching staff total to 18 strikeouts, the most they have recorded in a nine-inning game in franchise history. They have now struck out 33 batters in two games against the Express and have won 8 straight against Round Rock. Eric Young, Jr. provided the pop with two hits and four RBI and Brandon Macias cleaned up with a two-run homer in the sixth giving the Sox the final 6-0 margin.

This evening, the Sky Sox and Express get ready for the third game of a four-game series against the Express tonight at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. This is the fourth and final series these two teams will play here in 2016. The Sky Sox enter play looking to continue their winning ways and come into Monday’s tilt with a road record of 24-35. They are back to .500 at 62-62 and sit in second place, but now are just 6.5 games in back of the Dodgers. In hopes of gaining more ground on or keeping pace with OKC, Colorado Springs will send lefty Wei-Chung Wang to the hill against fellow left-hander and PCL rookie Victor Payano. Wang is 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA in two starts with the Sox and Payano enters play 1-1 with a 10.97 ERA through three appearances (1 start) with the Express. The Sox are 10-4 against the Express and have taken the last eight games of the season series, here in 2016 and have compiled a 40-42 all-time record against them and are 22-22 at Dell Diamond.
