Today’s modified doubleheader with Sacramento will pick up in the top of the fourth inning of last night’s suspended game with one on and one out and Rivercats infielder Brandon Hicks batting with a 1-0 count.  Sox lefty Tyler Johnson is projected to be the relief pitcher for the Sky Sox who will face Hicks, and the lineups for both teams will remain the same.  With this modified doubleheader, the Sox have now played two games on the same day three times this season, news that should excite Sky Sox outfielder and RBI leader Andrew Brown.

In the four doubleheader games for the Sky Sox, outfielder Andrew Brown has collected seven RBI and six runs scored, both scoring a run and knocking in a run in all four games and has accounted for 11 of the 18 runs the Sox have scored.  Brown smashed the only walk-off homer of the season on the first pitch of the bottom of the 7th in the first game of the doubleheader with Las Vegas on April 16, one of two home runs this season in doubleheaders.

Since May 1, Brown is tied for the lead in all of Triple-A at 35 RBI with Reno’s Ryan Wheeler, is second behind Iowa’s Anthony Rizzo with 21 extra-base hits since the beginning of May and is tied for the lead in all of Triple-A with Albuquerque’s Luis Cruz at 14 doubles.
